Students

Whether you’re just getting started or continuing your studies, this page brings together the key information and support you might need.

We’re proud that students regularly rate UHI highly in national surveys, and we’re committed to making your experience the best it can be.

If you need help at any point, we’re here for you. Student services can support you with wellbeing, funding advice, learning support and more.

You’ll also find useful information across our website. Check your student email regularly for important updates and the monthly student newsletter, and get involved through clubs, societies, volunteering and student events.

And if you have feedback or ideas to improve your experience, you can share them anytime using our Red Button service.

Highlands and Islands Students’ Association (HISA)

The Highlands and Islands Students’ Association (HISA) is your students’ association.

HISA is run by students, for all UHI students, and is independent from UHI. They’re here to represent, support and empower you, helping you find your people, your passion and your place.

When you join UHI, you automatically become a member of HISA. That means you can:

  • Join student groups, societies and clubs
  • Take part in events and campaigns
  • Access advice and support services
  • Make your voice heard through course reps, elected officers and networks

Find out more on their website and follow them on social media!
